OLYMPIC GOLD BEIJING

A huge congratulations to Peter Reed and Simon Burnett on their successes at the Beijing Olympics.

Pete Reed was a member of the Gold Medal winning GB four in Rowing and beat off the competition in a nail biting finish. Watching the race was exhausting, so I can't begin to imagine how Pete and his crewmembers felt at the end of it. Pete and his girlfriend Sally have become good friends and it couldn't happen to a nicer couple. I've seen first hand the discipline, hard work and sacrifices Pete (and Sally) has put in to achieving this goal and he is a true inspiration. Well done. By the way dont forget to check out Pete's new website at www.peterreed.co.uk

I have photographed Pete on a few occasions now and look forward to the next shoot, hopefully with the Gold Medal around his neck.

Well done also to Simon Burnett on reaching the finals in the 4x100m medley and for beating the British Record. It's not easy being an Olympic swimmer these days, living in the shadow of the great Michael Phelps! I really enjoyed my shoot with Simon in Tucson, Arizona last year at his training venue and whenever Simon decides to hang up the swimming goggles he has a guaranteed career in modeling.

CONGRATULATIONS VINCE AZZOPARDI

Congratulations to Vince on signing with Major Models in Milan, well deserved. I have worked with Vince many times in the last few months and this guy is going places, trust me. Already on his first day in Milan he was whisked around to the Headquarters of one of the top names in Italian fashion. He will be moving to Milan for a few months in September.

Apart from being a natural in front of the camera he is also one of the most genuine people I have worked with and has become a good friend.

Vince is from Derby, UK, and has been working as a personal trainer and fitness instructor. He is also a great kickboxer, maybe thats why us photographers find it hard to take a bad picture of him, because we wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of that lethal kick!

Vince can be booked via massimo.tacchini@majormodels.it

SUPPORT PETE REED - GB OLYMPIC ROWER

As you may have noticed from my website, rowing in all its forms, is one of my favourite sports. Recently I have grabbed some of Pete Reed's precious time in between his training for the upcoming Olympic Games in Beijing to shoot with him. Pete is a 2x world champion rower, and with his crewmates, one of Team GB's best hopes for Olympic Gold this summer.

The first photoshoot we did together was a documentary style shoot of a typical training session at GB Rowing Headquarters in Caversham, and we have just done an off the water, style shoot with a retro Henley theme at the Amateur Rowing Association Boat House at Hammersmith Bridge on the River Thames, London, the day after the Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race. Pete being a former Oxford Boat Race crewmember was naturally ecstatic that Oxford had won the day before. We were very ably assisted by Pete's girlfriend Sally who is also the brains behind Pete's new website (www.petereed.co.uk).

So the best of luck to Pete, his training partner Andy Hodge, and all the British Olympic rowing crews at the upcoming Olympics. By the way Pete is great to work with so if you want to run a feature on him in your publication I'm sure he'll be up for it as long as you bear in mind his very tight training schedule. He has already appeared in Cosmo along with his crewmates (or if you would be interested in using existing images from these shoots for editorial purposes please contact Pete or me directly).

The best thing about shooting with Pete is that you get to eat like an Olympic rower afterwards and eating is my second favourite sport after rowing!!

Pete can be contacted via his website at WWW.PETEREED.CO.UK

HAVE A GREAT 2008

Start of the New Year, hope you all have a good one. So to start the year off here's some images from the two 2008 calendars I shot recently for Staines Boat Club (yes, Staines as in Ali G!) and Brunel University Rowing Club. We had great fun shooting them and the builders on the roof next door to the clubhouse particularly seemed to enjoy the Brunel girls in action!

If you would like to purchase copies of these calendars please email craig.twaddle@baesystems.com
